The Royal Family and Freemasonry- Beyond the English Craft Tuesday 21st April 2026
E Comp Dr John W Hawkins
John Hawkins, a Prestonian Lecturer, is an independent lecturer and author with interests, among other things, in masonic, military and social history.
For many years various members of the British Royal Family have been involved in Freemasonry and this evening John charts the nature and rich history of that connection, not only with the Craft but also with other degrees.
In preparing his lecture John was granted unprecedented access to the Royal Archives and those of UGLE, resulting in an exceptional presentation well worth hearing.
At our convocation to be held on 16th June 2026 E Comp Colin Johnstone, Grand Superintendent of the Province of Dumfriesshire, will deliver a paper entitled “Is there a difference?”, focussing on the differences between English and Scottish Freemasonry, including the Royal Arch.
